About College Strategies
College Strategies was founded in 2005 initially as an an educational consulting firm whose focus was on providing families detailed college search and selection services. Our services helped families obtain complete and clear information about the variety of educational and financial choices specific to their situation and goals.
We remain committed to assisting prospective college students in their college search process, however we have expanded our services to also include advice and resources for college instructors and administrators. Our current goal is to assist individuals with making intentional decisions related to their learning, teaching, and decision making.
About Chrystal Denmark Porter, Ph.D., Ed.S., President
COLLEGE STRATEGIES Founder/President Dr. Chrystal Denmark Porter [Ph.D., Ed.S., M.S.A., B.S., B.S.] is a life-long learner and member of the Higher Education Consultant Association (HECA), National Academic Advisors Association (NACADA), the International Positive Psychology Association (IPPA), and a sustaining member of the Mortar Board National Honor Society. She is highly motivated to help students determine and achieve their educational goals. Through the years she has counseled many students about college admissions, academic success, and career preparation.
She has also been an adjunct instructor and teaching assistant for undergraduate and graduate level courses, teaching on topics related to sport marketing, sport finance, sport law, principles of sport management, race and sport, gender and sport, and college success. In 2008, she accepted the position of Assistant Professor of Sport Science with Endicott College in Beverly, MA.
In addition to her experience in higher education, Dr. Porter has worked for the Denver Nuggets, Colorado Avalanche, The Women's Sports Foundation, The Bonham Sport Marketing Group, The Ohio University Athletic Department, and the Young Americans Bank.
